PT-141

PT-141 (Bremelanotide) is a melanocortin receptor agonist that works directly on the central nervous system to enhance sexual desire and arousal. Unlike PDE5 inhibitors, it acts on the brain rather than the vascular system.

PT-141 activates melanocortin receptors (MC3R and MC4R) in the hypothalamus and limbic system, directly increasing sexual motivation and arousal signals from the brain. This CNS-mediated mechanism means it works regardless of vascular function.
